On opening a log, the attached DXKeeper 4.6.9 will expand that log's TX# and RX# fields from 8 characters to 16 characters. Once a log has been modified in this way, no earlier version of DXKeeper will be capable of opening it. You should therefore make a log backup (Config window, Log tab, Backup button) before installing and running DXKeeper 4.6.9 . Before updating a log, DXKeeper 4.6.9 will prompt you to make such a backup, so you'll have a second chance if you forget. DXKeeper 4.6.9 cannot expand a log's TX# and RX# fields if either DXView or SpotCollector are running. You will be informed if this is the case, but its easier to just terminate DXView and SpotCollector beforehand, and restart them after the update is complete. Relative to the last public release (4.6.3), this release - eliminates superfluous DXView and Pathfinder lookups while logging a QSO via the Capture or Main windows - corrects a defect that caused the "guarantee unique start times" option to fail if more than two imported QSOs had identical start times (tnx to Jerry K3BZ) - refreshes the Progress Grid after a Recompute operation (tnx to Jerry K3BZ) - if the Windows Script Host is not installed, informs the user, and then terminates (tnx to Al K7SBK) - if "Substitute for missing operator callsigns" is checked and an imported QSO contains an OPERATOR tag containing only space characters, substitutes the operator callsign (sorry, I failed to record who suggested this, but thanks!) - improves error reporting for "Sync eQSL.cc QSLs" (tnx to Jamie W2QO) - provides a button on the Main window's Check Progress tab that displays the contents of DXKeeper's Reports folder (tnx to Dennis WB0WAO) - provides an option on the QSL Config window's eQSL.cc tab for the user to manually download an eQSL Inbox to be used by the "Sync eQSL.cc QSLs" operation (tnx to Joe K4IK) - increases the width of TX# and RX# fields from 8 to 16 (tnx to Dave W8RIT and Dennis WB0WAO) - provides a TX Exchange textbox on the Config window's Contest tab (tnx to Dave W8RIT and Dennis WB0WAO) - if the Contest Style is set to State QSO Parties, generated Cabrillo log records will include the TX Exchange along with the transmit sequence number captured in the TX# item, and include the received sequence number and received exchange abbreviation parsed from the captured RX# item (tnx to Dave W8RIT and Dennis WB0WAO) - refuses to log a QSO whose begin or end date is more than 60 minutes in the future, flashing the offending item's caption in red font (tnx to Don AD0K) - provides an "Import from Writelog" option on the Main window's Import tab that enables DXKeeper to correctly interpret Writelog DXCC prefixes in imported tags to ensure that each imported QSO is assigned to the correct DXCC entity (tnx to Jim K1IR) - provides an "Add Requested no dup band-modes" option on the Config window's General tab that prevents the Add Requested function from generating a QSL Queue entry unless doing so would give the receiving station a new confirmed band or mode, or unless the QSL Via panel is set to LotW or eQSL.cc (tnx to Juergen DL8LE and Jim K1IR) - provides new QSL substitution commands (tnx to Dave G8FXM) *** - the callsign specified in the QSO *** - the QSL Via specified in the QSO or, if no QSL Via is specified, the callsign specified in the QSO - forces the eQSL.cc and LotW upload and synchronization status windows to be "always on top" (tnx to Joe K4IK) - updates the Configuration.htm, Contesting.htm, Import.htm, Items.htm, QSL.htm, and QSLConfiguration.htm online documentation files DXKeeper 4.6.9 is available via http://www.qsl.net/dxlab/download.htm or via this reflector's Files area. 73, Dave, AA6YQ
