This release - corrects a defect in DXKeeper 7.6.5 (2009-05-09) and its successors that discards logged Canadian Provinces when performing a log update (tnx to Koen ON7RK) - eliminates an errorlog.txt entry generated by DXLogMain.Fieldcombo_Click There are two ways to recover Canadian Province information: by performing a callbook lookup on your Canadian QSOs (assuming DXKeeper is configured to access a callbook CDROM or QRZ.com), or by obtaining the information from a log backup made prior to 2009-05-09. To recover Canadian Provinces via callbook lookup, 1. backup your log (Config window, Log tab, Backup button) 2. filter the Log Page Display to contain only Canadian QSOs (On the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab, type VE into the the Filter panel textbox and then click the Filter panel's DXCC button) 3. perform a callbook update "en masse" (On the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab, depress the ALT key while clicking the CBA button) This procedure will also add callbook information missing from Canadian QSOs -- names, locations, CQ zones, ITU zones -- but will not replace logged information with information from the callbook. However, callbook information is not 100% accurate, particularly for older QSOs where the operator may have since moved. To recover Canadian Provinces from a log backup made prior to 2009-05-09, 1. open the log backup file (Config window, Log tab, "Log file" panel) 2. ensure that the STATE field is present in the Log Page Display (Config window, Log tab, "Log Page Display" panel) 3. filter the Log Page Display to contain only Canadian QSOs (On the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab, type VE into the the Filter panel textbox and then click the Filter panel's DXCC button) 4. generate and print a log report (Main window, "Log QSOs" tab, Report button) 5. open the your current log file (Config window, Log tab, "Log file" panel) 6. filter the Log Page Display to contain only Canadian QSOs (On the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab, type VE into the the Filter panel textbox and then click the Filter panel's DXCC button) 7. type in the Province of each Canadian QSO using the information in the log report printed in step 4 One could in theory use ADIF export and import to replace QSOs in your current log with QSOs from your backup, but this would lose any confirmation or verification changes made since the backup was created.. If anyone would prefer to go this route, let me know and I'll provide step-by-step instructions. DXKeeper 7.8.3 is available via the DXLab Launcher and via 73, Dave, AA6YQ
