This release - can open a log if Commander is not installed, correcting a regression in DXKeeper 9.6.9 (tnx to Pete W1RM, Rich W3ZJ, and Joe W4TV) - instead of directing Commander to place focus in its Bandspread window in response to movement of a wheeled mouse in the Capture window, does so in response to clicking the middle mouse button in the Capture window's Call box or "TX Freq" box; note that depressing the wheel on many wheeled mice generates a middle mouse button click, so you can "click" the mousewheel and then begin QSYing by rotating the mousewheel. - corrects the "eQSL member" and "LotW member" explanatory popups in the Log Page Display (tnx to Stan N1ZX) - updates the CQDX Marathon Submission report to reflect CQ's decision to place South Sudan after Sudan rather than before it. - updates the LogNewCapture.htm documentation file Note to Ops pursuing WAS or VUCC: ================================= Versions of DXKeeper prior to 9.6.9 assumed that if a QSO was confirmed via LotW, - the grid square it specifies would count towards VUCC awards (on VUCC bands and Satellites) - the US State it specifies would count towards WAS awards This behavior was incorrect, because not every LotW confirmation specifies a grid square or a US State. To correct this, DXKeeper 9.6.9 added a new "LotW confirmation" item to each logged QSO; this item is visible on the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab in the "Online QSL" panel's LotW sub-panel. This new "LotW confirmation" item indicates whether a QSO confirmed via LotW includes grid square confirmations and/or a state confirmation. The possible contents of this item are G - one grid square is confirmed, but no US state is confirmed G2 - two grid squares are confirmed, but no US state is confirmed G234 - four grid squares are confirmed, but no US state is confirmed S - the US state is confirmed, but no grid squares are confirmed SG or GS - one grid square is confirmed, and the US state is confirmed SG2 or G2S - two grid squares are confirmed, and the US state is confirmed SG234 or G234S - four grid squares are confirmed, and the US state is confirmed Starting with DXKeeper 9.6.9, the "Sync LotW QSL" operation updates the "LotW confirmation" item of each QSO reported as confirmed via LotW to indicate whether its grid(s) and state have been confirmed via LotW, using the above codes. This operation has been further extended to - report missing or invalid grid squares reported by LotW if the VUCC box is checked in the Other panel on the Configuration window's Awards tab - report missing or invalid US States reported by LotW if the Subdivisions box is checked in the Other panel on the Configuration window's Awards tab Ops pursuing VUCC should check this new VUCC box; ops pursuing WAS should already have the Subdivisions box checked, as it ensures that logged QSOs specify valid US states abbreviations. Starting with DXKeeper 9.6.9, the VUCC and WAS progress reports now consider each QSO's "LotW confirmation" item. If the "LotW Confirmation" item does not show a confirmed grid or state, the reports will show "NG" or "NS" in the "LotW Cfm" column, respectively. All of the QSOs in your log that were recorded or imported prior to DXKeeper 9.6.9 have emoty "LotW confirmation" items. To populate these items, 1. select the Main window's QSL tab 2. set the "QSL Via" selector to LotW 3. while depressing the CTRL key, click the "Sync LotW QSLs" operation Step 3 can take awhile, as it directs LotW to report ALL confirmations, and updates the logged QSOs associated with each of these confirmations. At this point, generating a VUCC or WAS progress progress report will only show "NG" or "NS" in the "LotW Cfm" column if your QSO partner did not icnclude a grid or US State in his or her station location. To address this, I suggest sending a polite email message to your QSO partner asking that they update their "Station Location" and then re-upload the QSO. After they do that, 1. select the QSO in the Log Page Display 2. right-click, and select the new "Update from LotW" menu item. DXKeeper will direct LotW to report this one confirmation, and update your logged QSO accordingly -- hopefully with the newly added grid and/or state confirmation. DXKeeper 9.7.1 is available via the DXLab Launcher and via 73, Dave, AA6YQ
