This version of Pathfinder provides a new “Update Emulation” button on its Configuration window that when clicked will add an entry to the Windows Registry that enables Pathfinder to display web pages using the full capabilities of the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer. Depending upon the version of Windows you are running, a small “User Account Control” window seeking your approval may appear; this window may only be visible on the Windows Taskbar, in which case you should open it from there. After you approve this action, Pathfinder will offer to terminate so that you can restart it with the new Windows Registry setting in force. After being restarted, Pathfinder should render web pages more accurately, and with fewer scripting errors reported. A future version of Pathfinder will automatically perform this “Emulation Update” the first time it runs, but until we have some experience with the various versions of Windows and Internet Explorer in combination, I thought it best to start with the process under user control. The Help.htm documentation file has been updated to reflect this change. Pathfinder 5.0.7 is available via the DXLab Launcher and via 73, Dave, AA6YQ
