This release - when the user selects a receive pane for which a callsign has been captured, conveys that callsign to DXView if running (tnx to Mike K5MKY) - provides a way to enable/disable contest mode from the Main window (tnx to Jamie W2QO) - optionally adds a DXCC Prefix column to the Stations Heard list (tnx to Dave KB3MOW) - preferentially seeks to use the DXCC.txt file in DXView's Databases folder, if its present - updates the BroadbandDecode.htm, BroadbandDecodeSettings.htm, ContestSettings.htm, index.htm, and Logging.htm online documentation files Notes There's a new Test box in the "QSO Info" panel the lets you enable/disable Contest mode, but it only appears if you expand the "QSO Info" panel to its maximum vertical height. There's a new "display DXCC prefix" box in the "Stations Heard" panel on the Config window's "Broadband Decode" tab. By default, this new box is unchecked. If you check this box and have DXView running, then each time a station is added to the "Stations Heard" list, WinWarbler will direct DXView to perform a "callsign-to-prefix" lookup and include the resulting DXCC prefix in the new Stations Heard entry. The information shown in DXView's Info (Main) and World Map windows is not affected by this operation. The next version of DXView will do for databases (DXCC, IOTA, LotW, USAP) what the Launcher does for programs: notify you when new versions are available, and provide a button that will download and install the latest version. WinWarbler doesn't reference the DXCC database; it just references a small file named DXCC.txt that contains the country code and prefix for each entity. This version of WinWarbler will preferentially look for DXCC.txt in DXView’s Databases folder. Whenever DXView downloads and installs a new DXCC database, it will also download and install a new DXCC.txt file – automatically keeping WinWarbler up-to-date with DXCC entities without the user having to take aditional action. If DXView isn’t installed, or if DXView’s Databases folder does not contains a DXCC.txt file – as is the case at this moment – then WinWarbler will use the DXCC.txt in its own Databases folder. Thus one can still install WinWarbler on a PC with no other DXLab applications present and have things work just as they do today; but for those users that also employ DXView, the next version of DXView will eliminate the need to manually update WinWarbler’s DXCC.txt file when DXCC entities are added or removed. WinWarbler 5.8.1 is available via the DXLab Launcher or via http://www.dxlabsuite.com/download.htm 73, Dave, AA6YQ
