This release provides CQ DX Marathon "Country Risk" and "Zone Risk" items in each logged QSO. These new items appear in the Award panel on the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab, and enable you to provide information that the Marathon Submission function uses to choose QSOs likely to produce the highest possible Marathon score with the lowest likelihood of points lost to disqualified QSOs. The Marathon Progress Report function employs the same approach, providing an accurate snapshot of your score were you to generate a submission. The values for each risk item are (empty) - nominal risk L - low risk H - high risk I - invalid A QSO logged via the Capture window has its "Country Risk" and "Zone Risk" items empty, meaning "nominal risk". To achieve the appropriate prioritization, the CQ DX Marathon Progress Report and Submission functions make three passes over the current year's QSOs: - during the first pass, they consider only low risk countries and zones, giving precedence to those worked earlier in the year over those worked later in the year - during the second pass, they consider nominal risk countries and zones, giving precedence to those worked earlier in the year over those worked later in the year - during the third pass, they consider high risk countries and zones, giving precedence to those worked earlier in the year over those worked later in the year A new "Marathon Submission" panel on the left side of the Configuration window's Awards tab provides a "Confirmed QSOs are low risk" box; when this box is checked, nominal Marathon Country and Zone risks in QSOs confirmed via QSL card, LoTW, or Authenticity Guaranteed eQSL.cc members are considered low risk by the Progress Report and Submission functions. A confirmed QSO whose Marathon Country Risk is 'high' will still be considered to have a high "Country Risk"; similarly, a confirmed QSO whose "Zone Risk" is 'high' will still be consider to have a high Marathon Zone risk. If you log a QSO whose Marathon Country Risk is marked 'high' or 'invalid', Marathon Realtime Award tracking will not consider that Marathon Country as worked. Similarly, if you log a QSO whose Marathon Zone Risk is marked 'high' or 'invalid', Marathon Realtime Award tracking will not consider that Marathon Zone as worked. This enables you to continue seeking lower-risk QSOs. The height of the Award panel on the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab was previously controlled by the "4 grid squares per QSO" checkbox in the "VUCC Bands & Modes" panel on the Configuration window's Awards tab. With the addition of the Marathon "Country Risk" and "Zone Risk" items to this panel, the Award panel's height is now fixed, so the "4 grid squares per QSO" checkbox is no longer provided. The "DXCC Submission" panel on the left side of the Configuration window's Awards tab previously provided "QSL Card" and "LotW" checkboxes that duplicated checkboxes of the same name in the "DXCC Submission" window; this panel no longer provides these duplicate checkboxes. This release updates the Configuration.htm, Items.htm, and Progress.htm documentation files. On opening a log that is missing the Marathon Country Risk and Marathon Zone Risk items, DXKeeper 11.9.4 will offer to make a log backup; then it will add the "Country Risk" and "Zone Risk" times to each QSO in the log, and set them to "nominal risk"; depending upon the number of QSOs in your log and the speed of your computer, this update process can take a while. After a log has been so updated, previous versions of DXKeeper will be unable to open it -- so accepting the offer of a log backup is highly recommended! Many thanks to Joe W4TV, Iain N6ML, and Jamie W2QO for their contributions to this version. DXKeeper 11.9.4 is available via the DXLab Launcher and via 73, Dave, AA6YQ
