This release contains both defect repairs and enhancements. Defect repairs - in the Log report *** displays distances in miles or kilometers as specified by the Distance Unit panel (tnx to Randy WA5UFH) *** displays seconds in QSO start and end times as specified by the "Display seconds in date/time fields" settings *** displays blanks in numeric and date items containing default values *** displays frequencies in the precision specified by the "Frequency Precision" setting (tnx to Paul VE1DX) - aligns Log Page Display columns as specified in the "Log Page Display" panel - doesn't grab focus when performing a Check directive for another application (tnx to Rick N2AMG) - correctly imports latitudes and longitudes when run on a system with a locale whose decimal separator is not a period (tnx to Arve SM6FFG) - improves the decoding of callsigns of the form part1/part2 where part2 is a single letter (tnx to Giuseppe IT9FGA) - when a button is clicked on the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab that changes the focus to another window, ensures that when the Main window regains focus, the mouse cursor is placed as specified in the "Log QSOs tab default focus" setting on the Config window's General tab - in the Capture window, improves the Lookup function to reliably color the callsign background to reflect LotW and eQSL AG participation (tnx to Paul VE1DX) - adds missing Sardinian provinces to the primary subdivision database: CI - Carbonia Iglesias, MD - Media Campidano, OG - Ogliastra, OT - Olbia Tempio (tnx to Barry ZS2EZ, Renzo I6KZR and Joe W4TV) - in the primary administrative subdivision database, changes the spelling of the Italian province CH to "Chieti", and the spelling of the Sardinian province OR to Oristano (tnx to Renzo I6KZR) - when creating a new QSO via the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab, leaves "eQSL member" and "LotW member" empty if the callsign is not an eQSL or LotW participant (tnx to Jamie W2QO) - when filtering the Log Page Display in response to the user double-clicking a cell in the "Realtime Award Tracking" window's "DXCC, Challenge, Top" Award Progress or Progress Details table, exclude QSOs whose callsigns begin with an exclamation mark or whose "QSL Rcvd" or "LotW QSL Rcvd" item is set to 'I' (tnx to Steve G4OWT) - in the Main window's Log QSO tab with Commander running, stops updating the "tx freq" and "rx freq" items in response to changes in transceiver frequency when another QSO is selected or an action is taken that saves the current QSO (tnx to John K5JRW) Enhancements to Award progress reporting - generates a DDFM award progress report (tnx to Steve GW4BKG) - generates SRR award progress and submission reports (tnx to Steve GW4BKG) - generates a "RAC Canadaward" progress report (tnx to Paul VE1DX) - when invoked with the Log Page Display filtered, the "DXCC, Challenge, Top" Progress report asks whether the filter should be cleared before generating the report - when invoked with the Log Page Display filtered, the "QSL Stats" report asks whether the filter should be cleared before generating the report - extends the "DXCC, Challenge, Top" panel's Progress report to display confirmation statistics: by card, by LotW, and - if enabled - by eQSL (tnx to Mauro IK2WPO) - provides the option to specify the precision used for frequencies in progress and submission reports (tnx to Paul VE1DX) - includes the most recent DOK award file (tnx to Koen ON7RK) Enhancements to Realtime Award Tracking (tnx to Jose N1BAA and Jamie W2QO)) - provides the option to maintain a Realtime Award Tracking information for the WAZ family of awards *** provides a new Realtime Award Tracking (RAT) window whose DXCC tab displays and queries the realtime award tracking information for DXCC and TopList, and whose WAZ tab displays and queries the realtime award tracking information for WAZ (if enabled) *** provides access to the RAT window via a new RAT button on the Main window's Log QSOs tab and new Realtime Tracking buttons on the Main window's Check Progress tab's "DXCC, Challenge, & Toplist" and "CQ WAZ" panels. *** automatic recomputes realtime award progress when an element of a QSO affecting WAZ award progress is modified *** extends the Add Needed function to populate the QSL Queue with QSOs whose confirmation would advance WAZ progress on the specified bands, modes, or band-modes *** include a "please QSL" notation on any generated QSL card or label if it's QSO's confirmation would advance WAZ progress on the specified bands, modes, or band-modes *** after performing an ADIF import operation, includes new CQ zone, zone-band, zone-mode, and zone-band-mode confirmations in the progress report *** after performing a "Sync eQSL QSLs" operation, includes new CQ zone, zone-band, zone-mode, and zone-band-mode AG confirmations in the progress report *** displays a callsign in the Capture window or Main window's Log QSO panel in red or blue font if its CQ zone, zone-band, zone-mode, or zone-band-mode is sought and unconfirmed or unworked, respectively - provides a new WAZVerified QSO item in the Main window's QSL panel that indicates whether a QSO has been submitted for WAZ verification or verified for WAZ credit, or is invalid for WAZ credit - used the new ADIF CREDIT_SUBMITTED and CREDIT_GRANTED fields to import and export submission and verification information for WAZ awards - directs SpotCollector to perform partial or full recomputation when logged QSOs are modified or deleted, and after new QSOs are imported from a file Enhancements to Keyboard Shortcuts (tnx to John K8AJS) - Alt-= in the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab or Capture window moves the mouse cursor to the ARRL, Region, or DOK item if visible - Alt-0 through Alt-7 in the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab or Capture window moves the mouse cursor to user-defined fields 0 through 7 respectively - Alt-/ in the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab or Capture window moves the mouse cursor to the TX_Power item Enhancements to Filtering (tnx to Steve G4OWT) - invoking the DXCC filter on the Main window's Log QSOs panel with the Filter panel textbox empty filters the log for QSOs whose DXCC entity match that of the currently-selected QSO - invoking the Call filter on the Main window's Log QSOs panel with the Filter panel textbox empty filters the log for QSOs whose callsign match that of the currently-selected QSO Enhancements to Importing - reports each imported QSO whose frequency doesn't match its band or whose RX frequency doesn't match its RX band - when importing, sets a QSO's Broken item to Y if its frequency doesn't match its band or if its RX frequency doesn't match its RX band, and flashes the frequency or RX frequency labels of such QSOs in red font - moves Import statistics to a separate window that is displayed during and after importing, and provides a Stats button to re-display this window if it has been closed - provides the ability to import QSOs exported from DXBase version 5 using Btrieve and DXBConvt (tnx to Don W5FKX) - with the Config window's Awards tab's Other panel's Subdivision box enabled, corrects incorrect capitalization of secondary subdivisions when importing files or performing Sync LotW QSLs (tnx to Dave W8RIT) Enhancements to interoperation with eQSL - if an eQSL Nickname is specified on the "QSL Config" window's eQSL.cc tab, displays this eQSL.cc Nickname beneath the "Upload to eQSL.cc" button on the Main window's QSL tab - when attempting to synchronize with eQSL.cc, extracts and displays any error message returned by eQSL.cc (tnx to Tom WA2BCK) - provides the ability to download and display QSL images for QSOs confirmed via eQSL.cc (tnx to Jeff AC0C, Dave N5UP, and Rich W3ZJ) - provides the option to retain eQSL images in DXKeeper's "eQSL Images" sub-folder; when the user clicks the Display button, check to see whether the eQSL image has already been downloaded, and if so display the already-downloaded image -- unless the user has depressed the CTRL key while clicking the Display button, in which case a new eQSL image is downloaded and replaces the existing image (tnx to Rich W3ZJ) Enhancements to Configuration - on the Config window's General tab, creates separate option panels for settings governing operation of the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab and for settings governing operation of the Capture window - provides a Reset button in the "Log Page Display" panel on the Config window's Log tab that when clicked sets the Log Page Display's row height and column widths to default values based on the current font size Other enhancements - provides a new “Require Edit to modify logged QSOs” setting on the Config window's General tab that when enabled prevents the modification of the currently-selected QSO in the Main window’s “Log QSOs” tab unless an Edit button is first clicked (tnx to Arve SM6FFG) - after a QSO is logged, changes the “Log button” on the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab to a "Save" button, which is used to record subsequent changes (tnx to Arve SM6FFG and Joe W4TV) - ignores hyphen characters typed into the DOK item in the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab or in the Capture window (tnx to David A92GE) - when initializing a QSO with callbook data, ignores the word "via" if its the first word of the returned QSL manager (tnx to Jamie W2QO) - after sorting the Log Page Display in response to the user double-clicking the caption of a Log Page Display column, displays that caption in the Sort panel - speeds up the Freq-to-BandName computation when the Bands.txt file does not specify two ham bands occupying the same 1 MHz - when LotW responds to a Sync LotW QSOs or Sync LotW QSLs operation with HTML containing an error message instead of with ADIF records, displays the HTML in the user's web browser rather than as a text file so the error message will be more readable (tnx to Don K8MFO) - enables the Advanced window's Modify QSOs panel to compute each QSO's PFX field when the "item new value" is set to (tnx to Phil GU0SUP) - when printing QSL cards or labels with "Print Preview" enabled, restores the Print Preview window if its minimized (tnx to Dave K4DLG) - ignores characters between // and // on a line in a script file (tnx to Art N4PJ) - includes 560m in the DefaultBands.txt file, which DXKeeper uses to populate its Band selectors unless the user has defined a Bands.txt file (ADIF 2.2.3) - includes JT65A, JT6M, and THOR in the DefaultsModes.txt file, which DXKeeper uses to populate its Mode selectors unless the user has defined a Modes.txt file (ADIF 2.2.3) - updates the CaptureItems.htm, Configuration.htm, FilterLog.htm, Import.htm, LogCompletedMain.htm, LogNewCature.htm, LogNewMain.htm, ModifyLog.htm, MultipleQTHs.htm, Progress.htm, Scripts.htm, UpdateLogFromCallbook.htm, and ViewEditLog.htm documentation files Notes: 1. When DXKeeper first opens a log file created by DXKeeper 7.6.2 or earlier, it will add the database fields required for realtime WAZ tracking and update each logged QSO with default values in these fields. 2. By default, realtime award tracking for WAZ is disabled; to enable it, check the "Realtime Award Progress" box in the "WAZ Bands & Modes" panel on the Config window's Awards tab; the forthcoming SpotCollector 4.9.1 will highlight and announce needed WAZ zones, zone-bands, zone-modes, and zone-band-modes. Enabling Realtime Award Progress tracking for WAZ will increase both DXKeeper's and SpotCollector's "load" on your PC. If you subsequently uncheck the "Realtime Award Progress" box in the "WAZ Bands & Modes" panel on DXKeeper's Config window's Awards tab, this load will return to its current value. A special thanks to Jose N1BAA, Jamie W2QO, Paul VE1DX, Arve SM6FFG, David A92GE, Rich W3ZJ, John K8AJS, Steve G4OWT, and Dave K4DLG for their help with the testing of this release. DXKeeper 7.7.3 is available via the DXLab Launcher and via 73, Dave, AA6YQ
