This release - when run for the first time on a computer, displays Pathfinder's License for the user's acceptance - provides a button on the Configuration window that displays Pathfinder's License - provides a button on the Configuration window that displays Pathfinder's errorlog.txt file - prevents mouse cursor stealing caused by a change in the sequence of URLs employed by QRZ.com (tnx to Kevin K4VD and Art W2NRA) - supports QRZ's new login mechanism (tnx to Joe W4TV, Rich W3ZJ, Nuno CT2IRY, Salvatore I4FYV, Kevin K4VD and Art W2NRA) - when directed by another application to perform a QRZ callbook lookup, reports when it is unable to log in to QRZ (tnx to Howard K7JNX) Notes: 1. If Pathfinder 5.1.5 is unable to log in to QRZ.com, then start Internet Explorer and 1a. click the gear icon in the upper-right corner and select "Internet Options" from the popup menu; the "Internet Options" window will appear 1b. in the "Internet Options" window, select the General tab, and click the "Browsing history" section's Settings button; the "Website Data Settings" window will appear 1c. in the "Website Data Settings" window, set "Check for newer versions of stored pages" to "Every time I start Internet Explorer", and then click the OK button 1d. in the "Internet Options" window, click the OK button 1e. terminate Internet Explorer 2. When Pathfinder is directed to perform a QRZ callbook lookup for a callsign like OK/DL2DXA, for which QRZ.com reports the information for DL2DXA instead of for OK/DL2DXA, Pathfinder reports "no information for that callsign" to its client (typically, DXKeeper). Because of the slash in the callsign, DXKeeper automatically responds by issuing a second QRZ callbook request for the "home callsign"; if Pathfinder reportss callbook lookup information for the "home callsign", DXKeeper ignores everything except the operator's name and postal address. In this scenario, be sure to give DXKeeper and Pathfinder time to complete the multiple lookups - and the displays of QRZ advertising that accompany them. 3. Manipulating a web application like QRZ by rooting around in its HTML, as Pathfinder does, is inherently fragile. The new URL sequence and login mechanism won't be the last changes in QRZ.com; future "outages" like these should be expected at any time. If you find this unappealing, keep in mind that QRZ provides a reliable programmatic interface that DXKeeper can utilize; this interface is not only unaffected by changes in QRZ.com, it is considerably faster because callbook information is obtained without first having to render advertisements in Pathfinder's Main window. The quid pro quo is an annual subscription fee; see "XML Data" in 4. Update your firewall and anti-malware applications to consider this new version of Pathfinder to be "safe" 5. If this upgrade doesn't work correctly, see the "After an Upgrade" section of 5. After upgrading, to revert to the previous version of Pathfinder, see Pathfinder 5.1.5 is available via the DXLab Launcher and via 73, Dave, AA6YQ
