- when invalid settings are discovered in the registry, updates the registry with the default values and create errorlog.txt entries if "log debugging info" is enabled (tnx to Jamie W2QO)

 - When presented with a 6-character VK9 callsign, determines the entity by inspecting the 5th character (tnx to Henryk SP3E and Ken K4XL)

 - when Commander 7.4.4 (or later) is running, detect when the active transceiver requires frequency synchronization before logging or spotting, and performs that synchronization (tnx to Jamie W2QO, Ken K4XL, and Paul VE1DX)

 - prompts WinWarbler to establish a DDE connection on startup (required by WinWarbler 6.1.3 and later)
