This release - re-creates the errorlog.txt file if it was deleted while the application is running - provides the option to discard spots whose spotting callsign ends in -# (tnx to Jim K8SIA) - responds to the mouse cursor hovering over the Filter panel caption by displaying an explanatory popup containing the current filter expression - provides an Age filter that when enabled is updated each minute (tnx to Iain N6ML) - when inspecting spot notes to determine a QSX frequency, ignores "73" and likely signal reports for the spot's mode (tnx to Iain N6ML) - updates the ConfigurationDatabase.htm, index.htm, ConfigurationSpecialCallsigns.htm, and SpotDatabase.htm documentation files Notes: 1. The configuration window's "Special Callsigns" tab now provides a "Discard spots from spotting station callsigns ending in -#" option, enabling "Skimmer spots" to be rejected. For additional information, see 2. If the SQL expression displayed in the Main window's Filter panel caption is too long to be entirely visible, let the mouse cursor hover over this caption, and an explanatory popup displaying the entire SQL expression will appear. 3. This release provides a new Age filter that - like the Band, Mode, Continent, Origin, LotW, and eQSL filters -- can be combined with other filters. 3a. Settings governing the Age, Frequency, and Need filters reside in a Filters panel on the Configuration window's "Spot Database" tab. 3b. To enable the Age filter, specify a "Maximum Age" (in minutes) in the "Age Filter" panel on the Configuration window's "Spot Database" tab, and then check the new Age box in the Main window's Filter panel. With the Age filter enabled, SpotCollector will re-apply the current filter every minute, hiding any Spot Database Entries whose Received time is older than the Age filter's "Maximum Age" setting. 3c. If SpotCollector is recomputing or compacting the SpotDatabase, or busy performing other operations, it may skip an Age filter update; thus with the Age filter enabled, you may occasionally see Spot Database Entries older than the specified Maximum Age. 3d. SpotCollector previously provided a Frequency filter with an Age setting, but the Age constraint was only applied when the filter was first enabled. In this version, the Frequency filter no longer offers an Age constraint, because the new Age filter can be activated in conjunction with the Frequency filter if desired. When you first run this version, the new Age filter's "Maximum Age" setting will be initialized to the Frequency filter's previous "Maximum Age" setting. 3e. Enabling the Age filter will increase SpotCollector's load on your PC at the beginning of each minute. SpotCollector 6.3.5 is available via the DXLab Launcher, and via 73, Dave, AA6YQ
