Logging and Submitting ARRL Field Day QSOs

The ARRL does not process submitted logs or "dupe sheets"; they simply seek evidence that the operator made a good faith effort to avoid working and counting dupes. Thus the following procedure is recommended:

  1. if you'll be making QSOs in CW or SSB, on DXKeeper's Configuration window's Contest tab

    1. check the Contest mode box

    2. set the Contest ID selector on that tab to ARRL-FIELD-DAY

  2. if you'll be making QSOs in PSK or RTTY, on WinWarbler's Configuration window's Contest tab

    1. check the Contest mode box

    2. set the Contest ID selector on that tab to ARRL-FIELD-DAY

  3. if you'll be making QSOs using WSJT-X , on its Settings window's Advanced tab,

    1. check the Special operating activity box

    2. click the ARRL FIeld Day button

    3. specify your exchange in the FD Exch box (number of transmitters, class, and ARRL/RAC section or DX, e.g. 1D EMA or 1D DX )

  4. enjoy making Field Day QSOs!
  5. disable Contest mode in each of DXKeeper, WinWarbler, and WSJT-X

  6. if DXKeeper's Log Page Display does not include columns for the Callsign, QSO Begin, Band, and Mode items, add them

  7. to check for duplicate QSOs made during Field Day,
    1. at the bottom of the Main window's Check Progress tab, click the Clear Select button

    2. filter the Log Page Display with the SQL expression (Year(QSO_Begin)=2020) and (CONTEST_ID = 'ARRL-FIELD-DAY')

    3. in the Duplicates panel at the bottom of the DXKeeper's Advanced Sorts, Filters, & Modifiers window,

      1. set the Range to 1

      2. click the Filter button

      3. if the Log Page Display on DXKeeper's Main window's Log QSOs tab displays one or more QSOs, delete these duplicate QSOs by selecting each and clicking the Delete button above the Log Page Display

  8. filter the Log Page Display with the SQL expression (Year(QSO_Begin)=2020) and (CONTEST_ID = 'ARRL-FIELD-DAY')

  9. on the Main window's Log QSOs tab, click the Report button above the Log Page Display

  10. submit the report generated by step 9 via the ARRL Field Day Entry web page
