Defining Bands and Modes
After installation, all DXLab applications define a set of bands and modes useful in most parts of the world. You can easily customize these definitions to keep up with new technologies and frequency allocations.
Commander, DXKeeper, SpotCollector, and WinWarbler use independent band and mode definition files, as they each have different purposes.
The files BandSegments.txt and DefaultBandSegments.txt in your Commander folder defines the upper and lower bounds of each band for the purpose of transceiver control. See http://www.dxlabsuite.com/commander/Help/Configuration.htm#Defining%20sub-bands for additional information.
The files DefaultsBands.txt and Bands.txt in DXKeeper's Databases folder determine which Bands appear in DXKeeper's band selectors, and govern frequency-to-band conversions. See http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/Configuration.htm#Defining%20Bands for additional information.
The files DefaultModes.txt, and Modes.txt in DXKeeper's Databases folder determine which Modes appear in DXKeeper's mode selectors, and specify which modes count for which awards. See http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/Configuration.htm#Defining%20or%20Eliminating%20Modes for addtional information.
The file BandModes.txt in your SpotCollector folder defines band segments and specifies the default mode for each band-segment. See the Sub-band Definition Panel section of http://www.dxlabsuite.com/spotcollector/Help/ConfigurationGeneral.htm for additional information.
The files DefaultPSKBands.txt and PSKBands.txt in WinWarbler's Databases folder define the PSK band segments, which are used to color code the waterfall display's frequency scale. See http://www.dxlabsuite.com/winwarbler/Help/SoundcardPSKSettings.htm#Defining%20custom%20PSK%20sub-bands for additional information.
The files DefaultRTTYBands.txt and RTTYBands.txt in WinWarbler's Databases folder define the RTTY band segments, which are used to color code the waterfall display's frequency scale. See http://www.dxlabsuite.com/winwarbler/Help/SoundcardRTTYSettings.htm#Defining%20Custom%20RTTY%20Sub-bands for additional information.
