Participating in a DX Marathon Sprint
To participate in a DX Marathon Sprint, at the beginning of the first day
- terminate all DXLab applications except the DXLab Launcher
Direct the Launcher to save all settings to a Workspace named Pre-Sprint.
- Start DXKeeper
on DXKeeper's Configuration window's Awards tab,
disable Realtime Award Tracking for all awards except DX Marathon, and uncheck all of the boxes in the DXCC Bands & Modes panel
configure the bands, modes, and class on which to pursue the DX Marathon Sprint, and enable Realtime Award Tracking for DX Marathon
if you're also using JTAlert, configure the bands on which to pursue the DX Marathon Sprint in the Wanted DX Marathon section of JTAlert's Settings menu
Using the Log tab of DXKeeper's Configuration window, direct DXKeeper to create and open a new log file
Start SpotCollector
On the Spot Database tab of SpotCollector's Configuration window,
set the Log file referenced for award progress panel to use the new log file you created in step 4
click the Recomputation panel's Recomp button
SpotCollector will now highlight as needed for DX Marathon any Marathon Country, Country-band, County-mode, Marathon Zone, Zone-band, or Zone Mode not yet worked during the Marathon Sprint, according to the DX Marathon objectives you've specified.
Note: SpotCollector will continue to highlight active stations needed for Mixed DXCC, but will not highlight active stations needed for any of the other awards you were pursuing before you changed your objectives in step 3a above.
At the completion of the Sprint,
On the Check Progress tab of DXKeeper's Main window, click the DX Marathon panel's Progress button to generate a progress report
Using the Export tab of DXKeeper's Main window, export all QSOs to an ADIF file, and submit this file to the DX Marathon Sprint administrator
Terminate all applications except the DXLab Launcher, and direct the Launcher to load all settings from the Pre-Sprint Workspace to which settings were saved in step 1
if you're also using JTAlert and pursuing in the DX Marathon, select the bands on which to pursue the DX Marathon Wanted DX Marathon section of JTAlert's Settings menu
Start DXKeeper, which should open the log file you were using before the Sprint; using the Main window's Import tab, import the ADIF file you exported in step 2 immediately above
Start SpotCollector
On the Spot Database tab of SpotCollector's Configuration window,
set the Log file referenced for award progress panel to the log file you were using before the Sprint
click the Recomputation panel's Recomp button
SpotCollector will resume highlighting active stations needed for the awards awards you were pursuing before you changed your objectives at the beginning of the Sprint.
