Determining Why a Confirmed QSO is Not Valid for WAS Awards

  1. If a confirmed QSO's Band item does not specify a band for which WAS awards are available, it will not be considered valid for WAS

  2. If a confirmed QSO's QRP box is checked in the WAS Bands and Modes panel on the Configuration window's Awards tab, it will only be considered valid for WAS if its Power item specifies a value between 0 and 5 watts

  3. If more than one my QTH is defined, a confirmed QSO will only be considered valid for WAS if its myQTH ID item selects a my QTH whose WAS box checked. This facilites compliance with WAS rule 4, which requires that submitted contacts must be made from same location, or from locations no two of which are more than 50 miles (80 kilometers) apart.

  4. If a QSO is confirmed via LoTW, it will only be considered valid for WAS if its LoTW CFM item contains the letter S, indicating that the QSO partner specified his or her state in the LoTW Station Location used to submit the QSO to LoTW
