Controlling a Winkeyer
Required Connections
An RS-232 connection between the Winkeyer's serial port and a serial port on your PC; if necessary, you can change the COM port number that Windows assigns to a USB-to-serial-port adaptor.
- A connection between the Winkeyer's straight key output and your transceiver's straight key input
A connection between the Winkeyer's PTT output to your transceiver's RX/TX input, as described in the WinKey documentation
Note: instead of connecting the Winkeyer's PTT output to your transceiver's RX/TX input, you can enable your transceiver's Break-in option, or manually switch your transceiver between receiving and transmitting, e.g. with a foot switch.
